OUR STORY
BIG BORO.Real connection.
Neighbors, becoming friends.
From Queens, With Love started with a simple desire: to feel more connected to the place we call home.
For our founder, Skyy Forcer, that meant spending more time in Queens, getting to know her neighbors, and finding community closer to home. A TikTok video about that intention became the starting point for FQWL.
Loneliness doesn’t always look like having no one. Sometimes, you have close friends, but they live across the city. You work or study from home. Catching up takes weeks of planning, and you miss the everyday connection that comes from having people nearby.
FQWL creates opportunities for those connections to grow. Through small gatherings, shared interests, and time spent exploring our borough, we help people meet, reconnect, and become part of each other’s lives. Brunch, a creative afternoon, or a night out can be the beginning of a friendship that continues long after the event.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Meet Skyy
Hi, I’m Skyy, the founder of From Queens, With Love. I’m a writer and producer, a born-and-raised New Yorker, and a Queens resident who wanted to put down deeper roots.
When I shared that first video, I had wonderful friends, but most of them lived outside Queens. With work and school happening remotely, I was missing the regular, everyday interactions that help a place feel like home.
I also missed connecting with people of different ages and backgrounds. Those relationships broaden my perspective, challenge my assumptions, and help me keep growing in empathy and compassion. So I started making a conscious effort to connect locally and invited others to join me.
Outside of FQWL, I love dancing, films, writing, and thrifting. I’m getting to know more of Queens right alongside this community, and I’m excited to see the friendships we build here.
Meet our Connectors.
Across all five regions, our volunteer Connectors plan local hangouts, welcome members, and make meeting someone new a little easier.
